An open lab notebook

From local to frontier. I test everything.

Dozens of experiments run here in parallel. When one holds up I publish the whole of it — the write-up, the data it came from, and the app to check it yourself — including the parts that said I was wrong.

What the numbers said.

The value is not in any one model. It is in how you make them work together.

About

A lab, not a chapel.

I'm Riaz. I work across the whole range of what AI can do right now, and I rule nothing out on principle.

Trained at the MIT in 2023 in digital transformation, I run open-weight models on hardware under my own desk and frontier models like Claude and GPT through their APIs — not out of doctrine, but because different jobs want different tools.

This site is the notebook. Anything I can show without breaking a client confidence ends up here: the app, the data, the method, and the part that didn't work. If a number appears on this site, there is a command somewhere that produced it.

On the bench

What is running right now.

Eight experiments in parallel — from mapping an island to a face driving an avatar. Not all of them will ship, and that is the point.

Mapping

Digital twin of Réunion Island

MapLibre · OpenStreetMap · LiDAR · SAM2

Rebuilding an entire island in 3D — terrain, buildings, neighbourhoods — and wiring an engine onto it that answers questions you ask of a territory.

Real time

Face-driven 3D avatar

MediaPipe · ARKit blendshapes · WebGL

A webcam face animating a 3D character, rendered from four angles at once, with no perceptible lag.

Video

The film factory

n8n · ElevenLabs · image-to-video models

A JSON brief goes in one end; forty seconds later an edited film comes out the other. Voice-over, shots and cut included.

Infrastructure

Compute at home

NVIDIA DGX Spark · Ollama · vLLM

Two machines under the desk running open-weight models with no usage ceiling and no data leaving the building.

Agents

Multi-agent orchestration

Claude Code · MCP · a shared registry

Dozens of agents sharing one registry, real browsers and real servers — coordinating without me in the loop.

Embeddings

The YC Atlas

fastembed · 384d · t-SNE · KMeans

Every public Y Combinator company vectorised on a CPU at home, to ask what an accelerator's portfolio actually looks like from the inside. Open it →

Game

Tubyrinth

Unity 6 · mobile

A 3D pipe maze you have to memorise. Native prototype first, to see what a game designed with agents actually plays like.

Audio

Synthetic music and voice

Suno · ElevenLabs · XTTS

Jingles, scores and cloned voices — the audio half of everything that leaves the lab, and usually the half people underestimate.
